head without a body downstream is a commissioned piece of writing for Boring Donkey Songs, a collection of  writings by the late Singaporean performance artist Lee Wen. Written in twin-city poetic form, where the lines are simultaneously read across and downwards, it reflects on the artist's life and practice as a masculine figure in the scene who resisted and embodied the complex paternalisms of the city state.
